Educational

I particularly enjoyed my experience making educational titles. Each and every one of them seemed to have a real story to tell, one told by real people. I was Creative Director for Hotz Interactive owned by Mick Fleetwood where we developed digital musical tools for the novice and several easy-to-bang away-on titles for children. I was entirely reponsible for designing the content of these titles as well as the interface and all accompanying printed materials.

I was the programmer, lead artist and Art Director for the Volcanoes and American Estuaries titles sponsored by the USGS and NOAA respectfully. Every educational title taught me something new along the way. It wasn't surprising to turn to another team member and say something like " gosh, I didn't know the sun rotates". Doing the title for USGS Volcanoes gave me access to some footage that would scare you with the power and destruction.

The medical cadaver title was freaky. A surgeon and instructor with Stanford Medical School dissected and colorized the body's organs over a 17 year period and shot all the images with a stereoscopic camera allowing the viewer wearing those classic 3D glasses to see in stereo.

The House of Blues contacted me and asked that I design an educational title, History of Black America. It turned out to be an incredibly creative interface in which the students collect media and are allowed to construct their own visual multi-media report. I completed all elements of this title myself.
